The Punjabi winter staple, in cubes you can keep on the table.
Dry ginger (saunth), ajwain, fennel and black pepper go into the boiling cane juice, so the spice is cooked through the gur rather than dusted on afterwards. It sets firm, gets cut into small cubes, and goes into a sealed jar.
One cube after a heavy meal is the traditional way to eat it. It is also very good crushed into warm milk on a cold night, or just kept in a dish for whoever walks past.
The heat is gentle and warming, not sharp — the ginger does most of the work.

Keep in a cool, dry place in an airtight jar, away from direct sunlight and moisture. There is no preservative in this product, so moisture is its only real enemy.

Because we use no sulphur or bleaching agent, colour varies naturally from batch to batch — lighter early in the season, darker later. It may also deepen slightly over months. That is real gur behaving normally.

Returns
Being a food product, we cannot accept returns once a seal is opened. If your parcel arrives damaged, leaking or wrong, send us a photo on WhatsApp within 48 hours of delivery and we will replace it or refund you in full — no argument.
